Debit Cards V Credit Cards

When you’re under 18, you’re lucky! You can’t get into trouble with credit cards as you are under the legal age! But a lot of young people are encouraged to get credit cards when they turn 18! Beware as misuse of a credit card is one of the easiest ways to get into debt.

Your Learner's Licence

Learning to drive will be one of your first liberating adult moments, and you don't have to wait until you're 18 to start.

These days, getting a driver's licence is pretty much a necessity. It is a skill you will use for the rest of your life, and will be more important as you get older and have a family. In the meantime though, it can bring heaps of freedom.

To start the process off you'll need to get your Learner's Licence. This allows you to start learning to drive a car under the supervision of someone who has held an open licence for at least 1 year. You can apply for your Learner's as soon as you are 16 and a half. Click here to find out exactly what you'll need to do.

Want to see a sample Learner's Licence written test? Visit the Queensland Transport site.

Now you're ready to get started.

Mum, Dad or a family member may be able to give you some lessons, but before you consider a driving test, you should have at least a couple of sessions with a professional driving instructor. They can take you through the driving test drill, assess how likely you are to pass and give you handy hints about what your driving examiner will look for.

There are plenty of driving schools around where you can take lessons. Take a look online, in the yellow pages or get a recommendation from a friend who already has a licence.

When you are a learner and out on the road you must obey the road rules like every other driver. The Queensland Transport site has plenty of information to assist learner drivers who are starting out.

So…think you're ready for the big test? Well, let's see how you go about the driving test.
