When you’re under 18, you’re lucky! You can’t get into trouble with credit cards as you are under the legal age! But a lot of young people are encouraged to get credit cards when they turn 18! Beware as misuse of a credit card is one of the easiest ways to get into debt.

The Interview
A lot of people find job interviews scary, but really it's just a conversation between you and your potential employer that allows you to check each other out.
When going to a job interview (you will be invited by the employer, probably over the phone), there are a few things to remember:
- Be on time – 5-10 mins early is best. Find out where you need to go in advance.
- Take your resume
- Be clean and neat – dress suitably (jump down page to what should I wear) no wild hair, makeup or jewellery, and don't go straight from sport training!
- Shake hands and introduce yourself to start the interview, then shake hands and thank your interviewer at the end.
- Speak clearly, be enthusiastic, confident, friendly and relaxed.
- Make eye contact with your interviewer – it conveys honesty
- Ask questions about the job, e.g. Would I wear a uniform? What are the working hours?
- Answer questions clearly, with explanation where you can – avoid yes or no answers.
What will they ask you?
The questions your interviewer asks may vary from job to job, but if you want to be prepared, have some answers in mind for these ones - they're likely to come up!
- Why are you interested in this job?
- Why do you think we should hire you?
- Describe your previous work experience.
- What are your Strengths? Weaknesses?
What Should I Wear?
Generally, conservative yet smart clothing is best for an interview. Save the midriff tops and hotpants for parties, and your billabongs and thongs for the weekend. Think business-like as possible. Make sure it is clean and ironed!
